WASHINGTON D.C.-- Sources within the Metro Police department, who chose to not be identified while speaking about an ongoing investigation, confirmed to IRREVERENT Magazine that they are looking into reports of a break-in at the Democratic National Headquarters at 430 S. Capitol Street in downtown Washington D.C.

According to reports obtained by IRREVERENT, a security guard at DNC HQ discovered an open door while making his rounds early on the morning of March 27. Surveillance tapes reportedly show three men wearing paramilitary style clothing, including black balaklavas, rifling through the file cabinets in the office of DNC Chairman Howard Dean. Sources inside the DNC, who wished not to be identified commenting on a matter of party security, told IRREVERENT that a sweep performed the day after the burglary turned up numerous listening devices.
Several calls from IRREVERENT reporters to the security company responsible for the Democrat's headquarters building went unanswered, and DC Metro Police Chief Charles Ramsey was unable to respond to questions regarding the case. Ramsey also could not speculate on what resemblance the break-in shared with the famous Watergate case that forced the resignation of Richard Nixon in 1973.
