NEW YORK- In a surprise move, Tom DeLay has announced he has been accepted by cycle 14 of "America's Next Top Model."
Hot on the heels of his withdrawal from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," former Republican majority leader Tom DeLay stunned many in the political world today by announcing that he had "been chosen" as a competitor on next season's "America's Next Top Model" (ANTM)."It's with great anticipation that I have accepted this new challenge," said DeLay (62). "I have always believed in pushing myself to new levels and this is one of my greatest challenges yet." DeLay, who withdrew from "Dancing" with stress-related fractures on his feet, told reporters that his injuries "won't impact at all" his fashion modeling ability in next year's competition.
"I just don't know what's gotten into Tom," said Chuck Farmington, leader of the conservative Political Values Coalition and longtime friend. "I know the past years have been stressful, but a man like him competing against 20 year old female models? You just couldn't make up something like this and have people believe it."

"Tom has always been very frank about his interest in the fashion industry," said Jimson. "I think he'll find that competing with women forty years his junior, though, will be much harder than he thinks."
"The Hammer," though, believes his strategy to be "focused on winning... at all costs" will ultimately win him the lucrative $100,000 modeling contract. "I look forward to showing the world a different side of Tom, one that many of them will be surprised to see," said DeLay.
ANTM is an American reality television show hosted by Tyra Banks, currently seen in 170 countries worldwide.
